The Panama International Merchandise Mart (PIMM), will be the first international wholesale merchandise mart in Latin America. It will feature more than 6800 showrooms divided into 34 buildings of 275,000 square-feet each on 1309 acres (530 hectares) of land near the Panama Canal, in the Colon Province. PIMM will be the premiere trade destination for local, national and international Latin American wholesale buyers. PIMM will be a professional wholesale market and will not be open to the general public. In order to register, you must be a wholesaler, importer, exporter, sales agent or distributor. Manufacturers will have the unique opportunity to be in direct contact permanently with the Latin American wholesalers that often cannot travel abroad and to the USA because of visa restrictions. PIMM will give the Latin American and Caribbean wholesale buyers the opportunity to purchase merchandise from thousands of manufacturers from around the world under one roof.

Open only to the trade, PIMM will offer the best selection of merchandise, including consumer goods, women's and men's fashion apparel, junior contemporary fashion, gift and decorative accessories, fashion accessories, children's apparel, and shoes and swimwear, among others (see below list by categories).

For the convenience of buyers, PIMM will be open year-round from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Saturday. It will be Panama's and Latin America's only wholesale mart servicing the Latin America and Caribbean markets year round. The mart will feature well known and top brand names and scheduled trade shows with temporary exhibitors joining the permanent exhibitors.

PIMM has pre-sold its first phase of development 6 months ahead of schedule, which demonstrates the need for this type of facility. Initially, there were 800 showrooms pre-sold. Each showroom ranges in size from 538, 1076 and 1614 square feet. Because of its success, PIMM will accelerate construction in order to offer 6,800 showrooms for sale - with the same configuration of sizes, an office park, convention center, hotels, condominiums and more.
